The cadaver surgical anatomy training lab is a one-of-its-kind facility in the country! This lab prepares and hosts cadavers that act as ‘near life-like’ specimen. This helps medical professionals hone and advance their skills. A state-of-the-art mannequin the “SimMan 3G” is a boon to the young medical students. Through mannequins, models and simulation techniques, undergraduates, graduates and nursing students are taught the basics of surgery, trauma life support, advanced cardiac life support and other skills. The tissue bank at the RALC is one of the best in India. It has facilities for harvesting, processing, storing human biological material or tissues either in a freeze dried form or fresh frozen allografts. RALC has a well-equipped multimedia centre that can cater to 100 people at a time. This allows surgeries to be beamed onto the screens or relayed via video conferencing facilities.

About Bengaluru
Bangalore, officially called Bengaluru, is the capital of Karnataka. Legend has it that King Veera Ballala of Vijayanagara once lost his way in a forest. Hungry and exhausted, he chanced upon an old woman cooking outside a hut. He begged her for food and was given a bowl of baked beans or ‘benda kaalu’ in Kannada. The King’s gratitude was so immense that he named the place after the dish. Hence the region came to be known as ‘Benda Kaalu Ooru’, or ‘Land of baked beans’ which eventually became Bengaluru. It is the second fastest growing metropolis of India and also the fourth highest GDP contributor after cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. Bangalore is popularly known as the ‘Silicon Valley’ of India for being a major IT hub of the nation. IT moguls like Wipro and Infosys have their headquarters in the city. The bustling cosmopolitan city with an all-year-round pleasant climate has many cafes, shopping malls and restaurants for a luxurious and upscale lifestyle. There are many notable institutions located in the city such as Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Indian Institute of Management (IIMB), National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) and National Law School, to name a few. The City is also home to numerous public sector companies such as BHEL, HAL, ITI and a host of defence organizations.
Bengaluru is a perfect example of peaceful coexistence. Recent years have seen Bengaluru develop and grow exponentially, while staying true to its roots. Despite its gradual metamorphosis into a new-age city filled with corporates and high-end pubs, Bengaluru still remains a tourist hub with several million tourists flocking to see the various sightseeing places in and around the city every year.
